My Daughters Love.

DH set off to work this afternoon for night shift, so I decided with the weekend upon us, the kids and I would have a movie night tonight. So, after an early dinner, a play under the sprinkler (I love watching my kids play, puts a smile on my face), and a tousle with the dogs we headed upstairs for a shower and cooked some popcorn.

When we sat down and began the movie, Little Miss 4 was babbling, but I was trying to listen to the movie so I just continued to agree with her (something I don't usually do). Towards the end of the movie, she occasionally continued to say something and I finally understood what she was saying (or concentrated hard enought to hear her).

She mentioned something about sitting on my lap, and I agreed.

Unfortunately this was the wrong time to agree with her.

For some reason, the question she was asking was 'will you die if I sit on your lap'?

Now, we were just watching an innocent childrens animated movie, nothing to bring on anything of the sort of thinking she was going through.

After hearing her clearly, she finally got upset, so we had to have a conversation. I rounded it out by saying 'Mummy wont die until you get really old, like 100'.
Sadly this brought on more tears, and her response 'I never want you to die'.

After lots of cuddles and me choking back tears, I promised her I would not die.
What a heartbreaking conversation to have with my 4yo. She is growing up so quickly, all I can do is be the person my children can always rely on.

After the tears, we danced the movie credits away to an awesome song (though I can't remember the name of it), cleaned up and I took my special people to bed.
My children amaze me every day, and no amount of training can prepare you for the everyday questions your own children throw at you.
